So I thought I would keep with the theme of the seashore and/or beach.
An artist and her daughter set out to explore the beautiful barrier island they live on during the summer in North Carolina. They take with them sketch pads and notebooks to record what they see on their walk. They discover wonderful things on the beach, in the marshes, in the maritime forest, and on the sand dunes. Not only do they sketch what they see, but they also collect items to take back for their scrapbook. What a wonderful book to use to understand the ecosystems of a barrier island.
This would be a great example for teachers to use to show students how they can create a media presentation for research they have completed!
